Brassroot was founded by Derek Sanderson, a veteran of enterprise software sales and partnerships with deep experience across Red Hat, IBM, SUSE, VMware, Microsoft, AWS, and Azure. Over the last 15+ years, he’s led revenue-generating teams, shaped go-to-market strategies, and carried a bag himself, meaning he’s personally owned quota, built customer relationships, and closed deals. He knows what it means to deliver.
What sets Derek apart is his ability to connect with people, with purpose, and with a plan. He sees challenges through the lens of an operator, treats them like his own, and builds trust through action. It’s this mindset that has helped him turn partnerships into real growth engines time and again.
After years of watching early-stage and scaling companies stall in crowded markets, he saw the gap. Founders didn’t need more advice. They needed a partner builder. Someone who could open doors inside complex ecosystems, navigate hyperscaler marketplaces, and still show up on sales calls to build pipeline from scratch.
